Mba Admission 2011: Admissions On At Imt’s New Campus In Hyderabad

The city of Hyderabad is surely giving tough competition to the management education hubs like Delhi, Pune and Mumbai. Countrys leading B schools have set up are setting up their new campuses within the city, seeing the high potential of the city with respect to employment and business growth. IMT Group has set up its new campus within the city. XLRI is also soon going to set up its campus inside the city. IIMA is also preparing to set up its satellite campus within the city.

While the admissions approach of leading B-schools, such as XLRI, MDI, FMS, JBIMS, have ended with the final lists out some time back, the admissions at the newly launched campuses of leading B-schools is currently on.
One such campus is IMT Hyderabad, which is the new B school of IMT Group of Institutions. The B-school is inviting applications for the first batch of students i.e. 2010-12. Students with a degree in any discipline can apply for the PGDM programme. They want to have appeared for CAT 2010.
Talking about the unique features of the new campus and its PGDM programmes, Dr. V Panduranga Rao, Director, IMT Hyderabad said, There are several features which IMT Hyderabad can boast of. At the finish of the initial year of the regular PGDM program students will undergo a 14 weeks faculty-supervised Market Internship Plan. This long duration internship program will enable the student to undergo the rigor of expert atmosphere in form and substance. It will also support them in getting the right pre-placement offers.
We are offering over 100 electives in nine distinct streams including Business Analytics. We will follow a cafeteria approach wherein a student has the flexibility in choosing electives from any of the nine streams. This model encourages a multi-disciplinary approach that ensures more holistic learning, added Dr. Rao.
Highlighting the benefits of doing MBA from Hyderabad, Dr. Rao said, Hyderabad has emerged as a crucial IT/ ITES city in India and is poised to witness growth in other sectors such as pharmaceutical, biotech, gems & jewellery, semiconductor, hardware, entertainment, apparel, aerospace and financial services. Several companies are making Hyderabad their major enterprise hub. For example, last year MNCs such as Invesco, JP Morgan Chase and Facebook forayed into the city, even though numerous of the companies like TCS, Infosys, Google, Accenture, HSBC, ICICI and Cognizant, who already have presence in Hyderabad, have expanded their operations. Fuelling this growth are the several SEZ developments for manufacturing and research as well as the national research institutes which will open new horizons of economic development.
